Annotations are from Alan Whitman 'Digging Deep in M33. The Triangulum Galaxy is a treasure-trove of subtle beauty', Sky and Telescope, December 2004, pp. 92-95. Whitman listed 29 'distinct glows — emission areas, stellar associations, or combinations of both' (92), but of course there must be hundreds more obscured within the galaxy.
